There's Still Buffalo In The Sky

Climb a mountain

Raise your bow

Nock an arrow

There's still buffalo in the sky

Everyone has dreams

Some reach them

Some don't

I'm still searching

What do I really want

Love?

Money?

Happiness?

At one point in time

I've had a little bit of each

But things I couldn't understand

Or didn't want to understand

Confused & angered me

So I let them go

Now I'm a derelict man

Drifting in limbo

Somewhere between where I was

& where I want to go

In the end of our existence

We will ultimately have to answer to ourselves

Or a higher power

So I guess I'll...

Climb a mountain

Raise my bow

Nock an arrow

There's still buffalo in the sky

This poem is from my chapbook "Outlaw" published back in 2003.
